Training & Scientific research
In all areas
of the University programme, attention is very much paid to enhance training
quality practical skills. The University strives to maintain close
co-operation with a network of other Vietnam Universities and research
institutes, and with state forest enterprises and village communities in the
transfer of knowledge and technical skills. It also strives to link teaching
and research with forestry production.
FORMS OF TRAINING
Every student
is requested to pass a national entrance examination, according to standards
of the Ministry of Education and Training. Examination subject includes
mathematics; physical, chemical and biological sciences based on each student’s
registration for their Majors.

Secondary Public Education Programme for ethnic
mountainous pupils.
A 3-year pre-Bachelors’ degree course on human resource development
for indigenous ethnic pupils, for building the mountainous area social
economy. Following this programme students sit for the national entrance exam
before entering the B.Sc. programme.

Postgraduate Training Programme

Master Degree Training offers three Majors: Silviculture, Forest
Products Processing and Forestry Mechanization
& Wood
Harvesting.

Doctor Degree Training offers three Majors as follows: Silviculture, Afforestation & Forestry Tree Improvement and Forest
Inventory and Planning.

Short Term Refresher Course Certificate Training: 1 - 2 weeks to 1
- 2 months to foster graduated engineers professional, political and
topic-based knowledge and skills (information technology and foreign
languages) etc.,
FORMS OF RESEARCH
In parallel to
the university’s education and training work, research and trial activities
are also being conducted. Research provides feedback to training and serves to
help plan, manage and develop sustainable forest resources. Research on
indigenous knowledge helps facilitate the development of a socially sound economy for the
midland and upland of our country.
At the moment,
5 different types of research are being conducted at the University:

Environmental Protection.
